A Friendly Reminder (and a Lesson Learned!)

Hi Reader

I dove into a post-grad sports nutrition diploma —it's everything I hoped for, packed with the latest knowledge to help me support you even better!

But… let's just say my commitment to perfect every assignment slowed me down—a lot. I was spending double or triple the recommended time to make sure I nailed every detail.

Add in my love for epic adventures (the longer, the better), building my social networks (real life ones), wanting to do everything in life all at once and, well… I overlooked one minor detail: module deadlines.

Oops! I had the whole 12-18 month time frame in mind, totally forgetting the importance of keeping pace.

Long story short, I missed the deadline.

Fortunately, I get to transfer to a new intake (for a hefty fee!).

This was a great reminder about the power of being intentional with your time. When our focus is scattered, weeks and months slip by, and we’re still saying, I’ll finish that soon, or I’ll get serious about my race/event/health/performance

Before you know it, race day or year’s end is staring you down. Or that missed module date.

So, take this as your friendly kick in the face from me. Let’s be intentional, prioritise, and make every day count—starting now!

Onward!

Hi Reader When was the last time you disconnected from your screens and immersed yourself in your world around you? Felt bored standing a line? Experienced the outdoors without need to share it on social media? Sat in silence without the need to have the tv on? I am writing this from the airport, on my to New Zealand for ten days of mountain biking (and trail running) bliss. I am taking this opportunity to disconnect to reconnect as they say. Hi Reader Tomorrow I'm taking on the kunanyi Mountain Run, a 66km event with 3700m of elevation gain. I've completed several ultra-distance adventures, including single-day runs of Mt Anne and Frenchman's Cap, this will be my first official ultra marathon race. I enjoy the challenge of both adventure and competition. Racing isn't for everyone, but optimising nutrition and hydration is, so you can enjoy more of your time outdoors (and not sick, tired or injured). Ultra-distance events require...
